It’s no secret that I have tattoos. Some you can see, some you can’t. No big deal. Sadly, according to some, it is a big deal. Not in the way you’d expect though. It’s not because it affects my job or it causes prejudice. This isn’t a case of people telling me not to get tattooed – let’s face it, it’s a bit late for that. No, this is a case of people deciding how I get tattooed.
Until recently, my life didn’t really have any kind of future. To be perfectly honest, I never even expected to make it this far. I am pretty surprised. I always thought that living a lie would be the end of me. Even after accepting yourself, not knowing how the world will accept you is a big thing. Getting supportive comments on Instagram is nice and has helped me to deal with my identity but receiving nice comments also means you can receive bad ones too. The same goes for messages.
